Sync Your Cell Phone

January 21st, 2010

Being in business you will already understand the importance of networking and personal contacts. Our mobile phones have become our personal assistants, keeping lists of our contacts, to do lists and agendas. But do we ensure that our valuable business data is backed up in case our phones are lost or damaged?

It has been estimated that fewer than 15% of mobile telephone users actually backup their data in case of loss or damage. Its worth taking a few moments to consider what would happen if you lost all of the contact details you have on your mobile phone. Think about whether you have these details stored elsewhere?

These days I back up my telephone data daily. But this is a relatively new routine for me that I established after having lost my mobile phone while hiking one weekend. The business impact of this loss was huge. I’d built up a whole load of valuable business contact details on my cell phone. My business suffered enormously due to this loss. This is why I now have a daily cell phone backup routine. And I have my phone covered with mobile phone insurance to pay for a replacement the next time I lose it, which is bound to happen sooner or later.

If you are now worried about how to back up your phone data it should simply be a matter of taking a look at the applications that came with your phone. If it’s a Sony, Nokia or similar then you will have been provided with a disk full of applications that will include the facility to copy all of your telephone data to your computer. If, or should I say when, you replace your phone it should be easy to copy back all of your phone data from your computer.

is It Possible For A Cell Phone Honestly Replace Your Home Telephone?

January 13th, 2010

Nowadays, there are more folks that are ditching their landline phones in favour of their T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.  Some do it because they usually use their cell phone to communicate.  Others do it because it saves them money, by taking advantage of unbeatable plans from companies like T-Mobile and Sprint Cell Phones.  It may be the in thing, but it is something that shouldn’t be treated lightly.  Has a cell telephone truly the most effective way of communication?  Is it a brilliant idea to limit yourself with that and get rid of the landline phone?

For some, it may be an excellent idea.  For others, it could be a different story.  These are some ways that you can establish whether your cell telephone can replace your landline telephone, or if you continue to need both :

1.  Landline telephones will work wherever you employ them.  Even if you have a metal roof on your home, you will continue to be ready to dial out.  More than likely, you will not get a signal using a cell phone.  Metal and cell phones don’t work well together and nearly each time you try to use it, you’ll get a signal interference.  You would go away from the house straight to get a signal.

2.  Receiving less telemarketing calls on your cell phone is a blessing.  Thanks to the FCC ( federal Communications Commission ), telemarketers are not allowed to leave automated messages on cell telephones without permission from the owner of the phone.  If you decide to ditch your landline for a cell phonephone, you won’t endure many marketing calls to your T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.

3.  There are some areas in which your cell phonephone won’t work because there is only a little coverage.  Even in some of the major areas there are dead spots where the phone will not get a signal.  The signals can always get blocked and you cannot always depend on getting a signal in a major metropolitan area.

four.  If there’s thunder and lightning in your neighborhood, landline telephones aren’t the best communication devices to use.  It is very dangerous and folk have been killed because the landline telephones are wired.  The storms can hit the wire and you might be influenced.  Using a cell phonephone in a typhoon is better because there isn’t any direct connection between the lighting and the telephone.

Depending on your telephone wants you’ve got to decide whether you must just have a cell phone, a landline, or both.  You also need to take into account if you have got a family that includes children.  In that case, you may want to have both options.  It’s less complicated to claim that you would like to save money by getting rid of one.  However, there could be a point when you need both.  You’ve got to weigh it out and see what the best solution is.
