Choosing Your IT Outsourcing Partners

Information technology or IT, is the cornerstone to a business’s daily operations. It is what makes your business run efficiently and effectively. It is absolutely criticla that you choose the right IT company to match your long term goals right from the begining. You should go one step further when choosing your IT support company and look at their business as an new business partner and not a company you are employing to work for you. Taking this approach will encourage both their company and yours to look for the most comprehensive approach possible when trying to meet your businesses IT requirements. There are many providers and solutions out there to choose from and you have to make sure you find the company that has your best interests in mind. KNowing this information from the start will ensure you obtaining the most comprehensive support from any business. 

You should do some research and check out several companies before deciding what solution is best for you. It is every small businesses right to insist on working with someone who has many years experience delivering end to end solutions. You should be wary of a person who is trying to sell you something “off the shelf”, it may not cover all the intricacies of your IT infrastructure.”

When you have narrowed down your choices you should sit down with a representative from each company. You need to ask lots of questions about their qualifications and their knowledge of technology. Make sure that the person understands your needs. They should be able to answer your questions about IT solutions you are interested in using for your business now and in the future.

You want to find a partner who will ask questions and examines your existing structures and business model. You want someone who is going to offer solutions that are specifically geared towards your business and not just offer some generic solutions. Insisit that a key consideration when selecting your new IT Consultancy, is that they already have a proven and long established relationship with key suppliers, such as, Microsoft, Citrix and Cisco.

Make sure you find out about their companies support policies. You want to make sure that you will be able to speak to a knowledgeable IT consultant or tech support person every time you place a call. You should make it clear that you want contact information for a person who can help you immediately. Depending on the level of importance each situation you foresee should have a competant consultant assigned to you. You want to be assured that when you phone the IT Consultancy you end up choosing, your problems will be taken care of immediately and not days later.

You want to be assured that the people who will be implementing your IT solutions are qualified. Always enquire in detail as to the IT Support consultants, technicians and other team members qualifications and experience in implementing end to end solutions. You want someone who is going to customise the solution to meet the specific needs of your business.

You want to find out about the cost of the system and also what the consulting fees are going to be upfront. You want to be on the lookout for outrageous consulting fees. You always want to know exactly what you’re getting and paying for. You don’t want to be tied to a contract where you are needlessly paying for a multitude of experts that are unnecessary for your particular business.

Cost is the key issue and you want to make sure you are going to be dealing with a company that will be there in the future. You want to know up front exactly what you are paying for and what you will receive in return. Your business simply cannot afford to find out three months after work has started on your IT project, that the implementation of your IT soution is not going as you had expected. That could lead to loss of revenue and downtime.

Your IT partner should take over the task of managing your business’s IT. They should also be always trying to find new ways to improve your technology to make your business even more profitable and efficient.

Finding the right IT solution provider takes time and you have to do your homework to find the right one for you. There are many reputable companies out there, but on the other hand, there are many companies who sound like they have promising “ideas” and “concepts” but don’t have any real solutions.
