A Step By Step Guide To Becoming A Pharmacist

February 24th, 2010

The majority of pharmacists work in a community setting, such as at a drugstore, or in a health care facility, such as a hospital, nursing home, mental health institution, or neighborhood health clinic. These pharmacists not only dispense medications, but also counsel members of the public and advise physicians as to suitable courses of medication for their patients. Increasingly though, those who train how to become a pharmacist are pursuing non-traditional pharmacy work. Some are involved in research for pharmaceutical manufacturers, developing new drugs and testing their effects. Others work in marketing or sales, advising clients on the effectiveness, and possible side effects of drugs.

Programs available at colleges of pharmacy are designed to teach you how to become a pharmacist and about related topics too, such as drug therapy. In addition, you be taught about communicating with patients and health care providers about types of drugs and therapies. Lectures and seminars on concepts of public health, medication distribution systems, and professional ethics will be included too. In addition to receiving classroom instruction, you spend about a quarter of the time in an assortment of pharmacy practice settings, under the supervision of already qualified pharmacists.

To be admitted to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) course, you must have completed a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary study, however, most applicants have completed 3 or more years. Additional requirements typically include courses in mathematics and natural sciences, such as chemistry, biology, and physics, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences. In addition to academic requirements, it is advantageous to have good interpersonal skills and a desire to help others.

On completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy course, and having acquired a pharmacist license, finding a job should be no problem. You can expect to initially earn approximately 90 thousand dollars a year, with overtime readily available if wanted.

3 Essential Components For Creating A Successful Network Marketer

December 14th, 2009

“It didn’t work for me.” How many times have those words been expressed from budding entrepreneurs who quit their network marketing business and tried others or quit altogether? They say failure is a part of success, but how can we minimize the degree of failure before success arrives?

After years of experience in the network marketing industry, I believe there are 3 essential components for creating a successful network marketer. They are

  • Instruction
  • Reinforcement
  • Results

All of these components intertwine and need to be occurring at all times if you want someone to stay in business long enough to be emotionally and intellectually committed to it. No component is more important than the others. All must work together synergistically.

#1 Instruction (aka Training or System)

Probably 99% of the people who begin a network marketing business have never started a business. The working process is completely foreign to them and they don’t have the knowledge to go from A to Z. Most likely every job they’ve held had training and supervision. Why should this business be any different!

Probably the best method to instruct network marketers is to implement a training curriculum just like the school system: Grades 1 thru 9, Freshman, Junior, and Senior. If First Grade includes teaching a new recruit the history of network marketing, then a Senior may be a top company producer who has direct consultation with the CEO of their network marketing company.

Desire or Determination is not a substitute for Instruction. Every 15 year old desires and is determined to get behind the wheel of a car. Their experience is likely to be more favorable if they’ve been trained.

#2 Reinforcement (Yes you can)

Negativity is one of the core rods that fuel our society. If you stop, look, and listen to the world around you, it seems like a million waves of negative rays are constantly bombarding your consciousness. Without positive reinforcement, it may be a foregone conclusion a new distributor will quit if they experience too much negativity.

Michael Jackson, an entertainment icon to millions, said in an audio interview his accomplishments were mainly to gain the love and affection he never received from his father. People quit just as easily if there’s no praise and encouragement.

Technologies like social media, email, and teleconference calls are efficient methods, but there’s nothing like personal interaction. A phone call, pot luck dinner, handwritten letter, and company convention go a long way to emotionally cement a network marketer’s journey to success.

#3 Results (Show me the money)

A unicycle is not a bicycle and a bicycle is not a tricycle. The song “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad” is bad because without Results a network marketer will quit!

As a network marketer goes through their school system, there must be a result of equal proportion that produces a commission check. There are some distributors who stay with network marketing for recognition, but everyone else is expecting to create an income. You can never tell what energizes a person. An enrollment their first month, a commission check for $300, or an advancement to the next leadership level.

No doubt there are additional components for creating a successful network marketer. I know it’s not an absolute, but when someone enters this industry and is able to experience the 3 essential components, they will succeed.

Coach Your Team to Success

November 17th, 2009

Many people in affiliate programs seem to think that once the sale is made, their work is done. Affiliate Programs are highly dependent upon developing a motivated and knowledgeable downline. The initial sale is not the end of your involvement, rather it is the beginning of a longer process of coaching and team-building.

People joining affiliate programs tend to have big dreams, but sometimes they fail anyway.

Reasons Why People Fail to Become Successful Affiliates:

There are three main reasons why people fail to adapt to change, especially technological change:

  1. Lack of Skills
  2. Lack of Knowledge
  3. Fear

Adopt the “Coach” Role & Mindset:

If you adopt the mindset of a “Coach,” you can dramatically improve your Downline’s performance along all three lines.

When someone joins an affiliate program there is generally a fairly big learning curve to overcome – new product(s) such as the just-released MaxPro System, new technology, and virtual relationships, all of which are especially problematic if your new recruit is a novice in the world of internet marketing (or marketing in general).  There will be a whole new language to learn, new tools and techniques to master, not to mention becoming an expert on the product they will be marketing.

The extensive learning curve can be very frustrating to your new recruits, so help them.  In fact, it can become so frustrating that many of these new affiliates will simply drift away, and never do anything to add to your bottom line.

Wouldn’t you be a lot better off to spend a little time with your new Downline members helping them to get off to a good start.  Take the initiative to help your recruits learn about your products, technical support and other resources available to them.

Chances are very good that you’ll also need to spend some time helping them learn how to market the product in this new Web 2.0 internet world of Blogs and Social Networks, which are unfamiliar to many.

Don’t just sit around waiting for your downline to contact you for help, take the initiative and offer them help, especially at the beginning of your relationship with them.  Take the initiative to help your new recruits overcome their fear and buyer’s remorse.

Coaching is easier than you might think – you just need a positive attitude and a desire to build up your team members coupled with initiative and action on your part.  The small investment of your time to coach your team will pay you big dividends.

One very good starting place for securing all the rest of the understanding about internet marketing that they will need is to have them sign up for the Online Success for Beginners course.

Tips for Dominating Affiliate Promotion on the Internet

October 26th, 2009

Do you find that you are just plain overwhelmed with the sheer quantity of internet marketing information there is available? You have lots of company. In reality, that’s the most common problem voiced by new entrepreneurs attempting to create a meaningful income online.

Today, we are going to discuss a few of the best ways to stay focused and cut through all the noise.

First, it’s essential to be aware that “internet marketing” is a truly massive expression. So massive that, in-essence, it truly becomes meaningless.

It is of the utmost importance for you to look at the field in manageable pieces.  You need to specialize.  For example, let’s deal with a subset of the huge internet marketing pie: Affiliate Marketing.Granted this sub-niche is still MASSIVE, however we’re beginning to get increasingly manageable.

What’s the next step?

Well, if you’re a budding information marketer just getting started consider getting specialized help from an established Affiliate Marketing Master.

But, even before this crucial step of soliciting expert advice ask yourself these basic probing questions, and make sure that you can answer them all clearly and succinctly.

What is Your Prospect Truly Searching For?

If you don’t know the answer to this before you begin you are really just wasting your time.

You have to empathize with your customers and be able to provide real value. Otherwise you will ultimately not succeed.

Assuming that you have the prospects real best interests at heart, what then?

In order to be able to become profitable and, therefore, be able to stay in business and continue to provide excellent value to your customers you must get a wee bit self-centered for just a moment as well.

So, ask yourself the question:
What is the Purpose of This Particular Affiliate Product?

This is the root of your profitability, because your entire marketing strategy depends on it.

Let’s illustrate, if your chosen affiliate offering is simply a lead-in to attain clients for, say, consulting, speaking or different follow up business ventures, you don’t need stress too much about the initial price.

But, if selling the affiliate information is your exclusive profit center, you need to sweat the pricing level details a lot more intensely in order to maximize your profit.

That points to the next logical progression.

What Other Products That You Can Sell Will Provide Additional Value To Your Clients?
This is really critical because in the vast majority of cases, “affiliates” do not make a lot of money on their first sale.

Often, Up-sells and Continuity Programs are where the real money lies.
Therefore, developing a portfolio related to your primary affiliate product is a critical step in making your affiliate marketing business successful for the long term.

In-summation, at the end of the day, your affiliate-marketing business depends on completely understanding the answers to the above questions.

If you can get a handle on these difficult questions right at the very beginning you are well on your way to maximizing your long-haul profitability.   However, if you disregard them you’ll certainly leave a lot of money on the table and, perhaps, even more importantly you’ll be inadvertently short changing your clients as well.

At the end of the day, putting together the correct team and affiliate-marketing pieces – initially – are essential pieces in achieving affiliate mastery!

Ameriplan USA MLM Evaluation

October 14th, 2009

Ameriplan

As a business model, Ameriplan Health is unbeatable in its unique idea and the benefits it provides to members. For over 16 years, this company has been offering discounted health care services to members for a monthly fee ranging from to .

Ameriplan Dental was the first discounted service to be launched by the company; it was soon followed by vision care, chiropractic care, prescription drugs and medical care.

This article aims to explore the income opportunity provided by Ameriplan to its Independent Business Owners (IBOs) through its MLM business. It’s tempting to read claims made by the company when it says it wants its IBOs to earn as much as ,000 in the first year and a six figure income from the second year onwards. Let’s see if this is a realistic claim and see the pros and cons of the income opportunity.

1 Why Ameriplan USA?

2 An attractive compensation plan that offers 30% commission on all sales, good residual income, Ameriplan benefits to your family and a lot of other promotional offers that give you access to good discounts on purchases from merchant partners.

3 Considering the fact that 7 out of 10 Americans are uninsured or underinsured, IBOs have a good opportunity to promote Ameriplan’s program.

4 The company offers coaching in selling skills and gives you two websites with full back office support to market your business.

All these factors are tempting enough to pull people out of their regular work to join as an IBO in Ameriplan; yet people should also know, not everyone who joins hits the jackpot. For most reps, it’s difficult to earn a decent income even when they work full time.

Challenges faced by IBOs

1 When the product price is low, your commission’s also low. Ameriplan’s services are offered at between and a month. So though your commission rate’s high at 30%, you’ll need to generate a high volume of business to earn a decent residual income.

2 You’ll be taught how to list out names you know and speak to them; don’t expect to earn much from your list of contacts. Just be prepared to spend a lot of your time and energy over the phone.

3 Once your contacts are exhausted, you’ll have to run behind strangers to promote your product. What image comes to mind when you think about “insurance salesmen”?

However, don’t let this discourage you from joining Ameriplan.Just chart out the right marketing strategy and you’ll find yourself giving interviews on how you came to earn such a good income in Ameriplan. Sometimes, people may not be aware of the Ameriplan business or what it offers; some may not know how to become Ameriplan members. You could get details of such customers by marketing your business online. Step out of the traditional forms of marketing and promote your product innovatively through various internet marketing techniques and see the difference it makes to your business.

Ameriplan Business Opportunity – A Review

October 14th, 2009

Ameriplan MLM

The Ameriplan Income Opportunity is probably the most disputed business on the Internet. On one hand, people claim it’s a wonderful plan with good benefits and go so far to say you could earn six figure incomes as an Ameriplan distributor. On the other hand, there are people who claim Ameriplan’s a scam and that it’s impossible to earn a decent income from this opportunity. If you are interested in becoming an Independent Business Operator (IBO) of Ameriplan, but not sure of the feasibility of the scheme, read on to learn the facts and decide for yourself if it’s a worthwhile venture.

•    Ameriplan – Where It All Started
In 1992, twin brothers Dennis and Daniel Bloom started the Ameriplan venture to enable people to avail medical treatment at a rebated rate.Americans who were not insured or had minimum insurance embraced this scheme.Through this scheme, for a small payment every month, a sizable rebate could be availed on medical services.

•    Ameriplan USA Data
Ameriplan claims seven out of ten Americans are uninsured or underinsured. This is good news to distributors to market Ameriplan Health. The Ameriplan Health Care discount program is accepted by over 30000 dental providers, 60000 Medical providers, 7500 Chiropractic providers, 56000 retail pharmacies, 12000 optical providers and 4000 hearing care providers.

•    Ameriplan USA IBOs – What Do They Get?
Ameriplan reps, called IBOs are required to pay a nominal investment and recurring payment to avail income benefits.Ameriplan goodies include a thirty percent commission, immediate payment on booking an order, Ameriplan discounts to kin and an agreeable residual payment. All IBOs are given training and support facilities.
So Ameriplan has an unmatched, yet simple to promote product line, a huge potential market with over 70% Americans being underinsured and a great compensation scheme that offers good residual income; definitely IBOs would have made millions with this income opportunity? Though there are people who claim to earn six figure incomes every year, most Ameriplan reps earn less than average income and have to face a high attrition level in their downline, cutting down their residual income. The reasons?

-    Though offline marketing training is offered, it’s not reliable. You cannot earn money by just promoting the product among people you know or by cold calling prospective clients.
-    Your target market is people who are uninsured and underinsured. How will you locate them?

It’s better when you have interested customers finding you instead of you having to go to them. One simple way to achieve this outcome is by taking your business online. Facebook and articles marketing are just a few approaches to establish a successful internet business and to get interested parties to approach you.

Abandon Individualistic LMS Training

September 15th, 2009

In an LMS training program, staff members are often asked to work together in teams to come up with ideas, develop strategies, carry out individual tasks and roles, and produce reports.

Most people have seen the corporate art poster which reads: “Teamwork: None of us is as smart as all of us.” Some of us with a dryer sense of humor have also chuckled at posters with the same image of all the hands in the center, symbolizing group unity and respect, one on top of the other, which reads: “Teamwork: None of us is as dumb as all of us.”

Joking aside, which slogan is more accurate? In a training program, are teams worth creating and maintaining?

Studies show that when a well-developed structure and a clear plan exist, training teams prove effective. When created and maintained by an LMS training tool or experienced trainer, the advantages of teams in training programs outweigh the negatives.

Throughout their lives, all people cultivate their own unique talents and skills. No one is just like anyone else. Strong leaders understand this, which is why teams are still used in many settings–especially educational ones.

Unfortunately, despite the popularity of teamwork in the professional world, oftentimes companies make only a weak effort to create strong and trusting teams.

Oftentimes, managers themselves aren’t convinced that teams can work effectively, which makes it difficult for them to share and nurture team-building skills in others. But when teams are maintained and coached with confidence in their power, a good team experience produces a happy staff. And of course, a staff with positive energy is often a productive and creative staff. The opposite can also happen–a negative team experience yields a tense, unhappy and unproductive staff.

LMS training can help both managers and staff organize and maintain productive teams.

Team-Thinking in LMS Training

September 11th, 2009

During LMS training, sometimes staff members are asked to work in teams to develop new ideas, produce reports, and take on different tasks to work towards organizational goals.

We’ve all seen the corporate poster that reads “Teamwork” at the top, and at the bottom, the old Japanese proverb: “None of us is smart as all of us.” Some of us have also been entertained by the similar poster which reads: “Teamwork: None of us is as dumb as all of us.”

Which slogan rings truer, humor aside? In a training program, are teams worth creating and maintaining?

Studies reveal that when a clear structure and well-developed plan exist, team learning can be highly successful and efficient. When group activities are aided and recorded by an LMS training tool, the benefits of team learning outweigh any potential hazards.

Throughout their lives, all people cultivate their own unique talents and skills. No one is just like anyone else. Good instructors and educators have always understood this, which is why teams are still utilized in educational contexts.

Unfortunately, despite the popularity of teamwork in the professional world, oftentimes companies make only a weak effort to create strong and trusting teams.

Managers themselves are often unconvinced that a team effort is necessary, making it less likely that they will be able to guide and maintain effective and productive teams. But when created and maintained with faith in their functionality, strong teams can prompt a happy and energized staff. And of course, a staff with positive energy is often a productive and creative staff. The opposite also exists–a poorly maintained team without clear guidance or instructions produces a negative, unproductive and quarrelsome staff.

One helpful tool in creating and continuing productive teams is LMS training.

Shatter the Glass Ceiling of Sales with Business Networking

September 6th, 2009

How can I use your tool of “farming” to breakthrough my current plateau of sales in my job?

“I really got a lot out of your perspective on hunting vs. farming as a way of attracting new prospects and business. I’m really stuck though because I always have believed in the concept of giving value first, asking for business second, yet my annual sales revenue has flattened out and I can’t seem to break through to the next level. My question is, how can I use this “universal” or “spiritual” principle to really grow my sales again, not just to feel good about what I’m doing?”

Mike B. CPA, Fredericksburg, VA

ANSWER: Jon Berghoff

Mike, you are right on in searching for a way to use this spiritual principle to increase your success.

Most critical is understanding that it takes creativity, proactive effort, and old-fashioned hard work to create value for others. It can’t simply be an emotion or an attitude. The emotion, or attitude is required, but only useful when backed up with action. You might remember in the teleseminar that I mentioned the importance of behaviors, not just thinking, to elevate results.

I would pose this question:

What are some ways that you could be adding value that are easy to do, that you have allowed to become easy not to do?

This is a good starting place. If this triggers anything, than put it to work. You might take the three areas from the call: gift giving, distributing information, and problem solving, and ask yourself; what are the easiest, fastest ways you could apply these secrets. I use the words “fast” and “easy” because most people over-complicate the process of farming (giving value first, asking for business second).

It might be as little as making sure your assistant answers every phone call in a positive and uplifting way, vs. an unmonitored non-emotion-inducing approach.

It could be the difference between sending out a packet of complimentary, useful information to your prospects before you meet them for a sales presentation, so they are trained early on to see you as an authority or expert.

Maybe it means hosting a phone group call for everybody in your sphere of influence, teaching them 4-7 ways to save money during tax season, or the 5 most common mistakes made by others in their field.
